According to a research published in radiology shows, using optical registration and structured X-ray breast can identify the benign and malignant breast lesions, thus effectively reduce unnecessary excision biopsy cause by imaging material not clear.
The study authors, Massachusetts general hospital in Boston biomedical imaging center Dr Fang and other partners think, good diagnostic significance, broad indications and good image resolution of digital radiography make it become the first choice for breast checkup. But as female breast disease’s screening checkup, the higher false-positive rate, tumor and normal breast tissue border’s not obvious contrast is till the major challenge of breast cancer diagnosis.
By increasing function of the image picture to make X-ray structure to be more perfect and effectively improve identified rate of the benign and malignant tumor. The researchers construct an optical and medical X-ray joint imaging system, targeted for optical and breast ray image’s structural registration.
For all this, Dr Fang and other partners say, “if correct use measurements of cancerous tissue and cancer of the breast tissue by micro hemoglobin and average oxygen saturation, which can reduce unnecessary biopsies and false positives caused by Conventional radiography X-ray machine".
