Breast self-examination at home instruments appear in Britain
University of Manchester, England has said in the report, the school of researchers developed a kind of portable Mammography unit. It is not only convenient to carry but also the speed of detection is faster than traditional instruments and help to large-scale screening for breast canner or self-examination at home.
According to introduce, the new scanner can be putted into a little box so you can use it in the clinic or at home, which only need to be placed in breast parts so you can get scan images from computer screen. The researchers say, its principle is different with x-ray imaging. Medical x-ray imaging is according to density difference of the different organization parts to get images, but this scanner is using Rf waves. If breast parts occur lesions, the lesions parts’ permittivity properties will change and appear different images in the scanning of Rf waves, it can reflect tumor’ position and size.
